Dear Mr. Cattermole:
Thank you very much for the interview you gave us for our social justice project on the criminal justice system. Your insights and personal experiences in the legal system were extremely informative and gave us an inside look into the system that we have been researching. We spoke a great deal about representation and the effect money has on it, and we greatly appreciate the honest and thorough answers you gave us. We understand that our topic was not exactly your area of expertise, but your general insights into the legal system were very relevant to our research, and gave us a realistic view of how the legal system in our area works.
We were intrigued by your optimistic view of the legal system. You told us about your experiences with economics affecting representation, and we were surprised that you found this to be a minimal issue. You described to us groups that provide representation to those who cannot afford it, and this was refreshing to hear after months of research on the flaws in the legal system. You reminded us that the legal system does a large amount of good, and that a system can be good without being perfect. We will continue to research injustices in the legal and criminal justice system, but thanks to you, we will be able to keep in mind that the legal system does a lot of positive things, and that we should attack the injustices, not the system itself. Once again, thank you for the interview, as it gave us a fresh perspective on our social justice project.
Sincerely,
Stephen Wandro
