Action Reflection
Prepared by Julian Thomas
The action I choose was to write a prayer for those who are suffering injustice at the hands of our criminal justice system. I choose to do this action because I felt that it was the best way that I could lend my help and support to such a cause. I hope to raise awareness and passion about the issue, so that more people will realize the injustice that is taking place and might feel inspired, either by god or themselves, to do something that might help the situation.
The first step in trying to make a change is to make everyone aware that a change needs to be made, and that is what I hope to do with this prayer, get the ball rolling on this issue. The criminal justice system is corrupted and the injustice within it is killing innocents and ruining the lives of many. It is a duty for those who enjoy the freedoms that we take for granted to help others enjoy those same freedoms as well.
When dealing with other justice issues in the world I do not think I would be inspired to act in any other way. While this project has been informative on my topic of injustice it has not gotten me to think about my prophetic role or inspired me to act on the issue. While it has been interesting to view the issue from a perspective other than my own, now that I am returning to my own point of view this project has not made me change my response to the issue.
