My name Julian Thomas. I have choosen to do the criminal justice system, including all parts of the legal system, but with a special focus on the prison system. I chose this topic because the system that has been designed to facilitate justice has now succumb to the injustice that plagues so many privitized industries. Which is also another reason I am interested in the prison system. The privitization of the prison system is the cause of major corruption within the prisons and is also immoral.
My name is Stephen Wandro and I would like to explain my reasons for writing this blog. I have been researching the effects of economic status on treatment in the criminal justice system, focusing on the courts and sentencing. What I have learned has deeply troubled me, as it seems to run contrary to everything i thought was true about our legal system in the United States. A system that aims for justice and equality is coming up short in those areas, and I believe that in exposing those faults we can improve the system to ensure that fair treatment is guaranteed to all, regardless of socioeconomic status.
